Inside the historic Monaldeschi Palace of Civitella d’Agliano (Viterbo, Lazio – Italy), visitors encounter the OLOS® interactive installation, created using an innovative visual rendering technique consisting of two levels: Domizia –the life-sized holographic character who narrates the story (First level)– is visually and historically placed in her own setting, a virtual environment faithfully recreating a Roman kitchen of the 1st century AD (Second level).
Thanks to interactive storytelling and accessibility features (Italian Sign Language (LIS) mode and subtitles for deaf visitors) audiences can explore the daily life of one of the many rural villas of the Teverina laziale, a landscape shaped by the River Tiber, the crucial link to the capital of the Empire.
This is an area where, thanks to outstanding research and related excavation work, numerous treasures that had lain buried for centuries are now coming to light. The OLOS® installation also allows visitors to explore and delve deeper into the stories connected with the individual objects in the kitchen which, through changes in perspective, appear one by one before them according to their choices.
Domizia is even ready to share some of her culinary secrets
