E-ARCHEO HI®CERVETERI

The multilingual interactive installation was created using patented methodologies linked to the OLOS® and HI® – Human Interface brands for the Cerite Archaeological Museum, in order to enhance its storytelling capabilities. Users can interact with a narrative character – the ancient Etruscan Vel Apucu – with the impression of dialoguing with him through voice interaction, or they can select topics through touch interaction, thanks to a narrative structure with nodes.

Through the innovative “e-Archeo HI® Cerveteri” application, the history of the great Etruscan metropolis is illustrated, using a non-specialized language suitable for a wide audience. Following a narrative itinerary, which branches out to reveal the stories of the masterpieces housed in the Museum, including the famous vases of Eufronio, aspects related to the cultural, social, ideological, and religious development of the Etruscans of Cerveteri from the 8th century BC to Romanization emerge.

“e-Archeo HI® Cerveteri” is part of the broader integrated multimedia project “e-Archeo”, promoted by the MiC General Secretariat and coordinated by Ales Spa, whose aim is to narrate eight archaeological sites of national interest according to an integrated experiential model on-site and online. The pilot project, which represents an absolute novelty in the technological landscape for museum fruition, aims to tell not only in an innovative way, but also sustainable and accessible to all, the wonders of our country thanks to the tools offered by digital technology.

The Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences of the CNR has assumed the scientific coordination of the project, which, for the enhancement of the archaeological site of Cerveteri, has seen the participation of a large group of researchers (CNR, University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”, University of Tuscia) in a broad framework of knowledge interaction and collaboration between the public and private sectors.
