April 11 marked the conclusion of the project “Unitus’s Cultural Re-Discovering through Digital Innovation: S.MariaInGradi,” presented in the presence of ministerial authorities at the Rectorate of the University of Tuscia. This significant moment also saw the simultaneous inauguration of the OLOS® installation located in the Santa Maria in Gradi Monumental Complex.
The esteemed and knowledgeable figure of Fra Martino da Viterbo was chosen as the guide and exceptional narrator. The herbalist of the former Dominican convent, who lived in the 1200s, now leads visitors on an interactive journey through time, recounting both the historical events related to the complex and its current configuration.
The installation is part of a project aimed at promoting the protection, preservation, restoration, enhancement, and digitalization of the cultural heritage associated with Santa Maria in Gradi.
The interactive narrative journey is further enhanced by multilingual modes (O®MD system), accessible via users’ smartphones without the need to download apps or rely on mobile networks, as well as LIS/CC for users with hearing impairments or disabilities.
